Abstract

Despite calls for coaches to enhance their skills in social justice and equity, credentials often still serve as demonstrations of quality in justice-oriented settings. This research explored a coaching supervision group within a Canadian charity, using an exploratory Single-Case Study design. Interviews and organizational documents examined how group supervision supports coaches confronting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) issues. The findings suggest that, unlike traditional coaching contexts, justice-oriented supervision offers significant value for reflective practice, learning, and growth—for coaches, supervisors, organizations, and clients. Thus highlighting its potential as a powerful tool in advancing DEI goals in coaching practice.
