Abstract

The abstract formalization of a living system in the form of a so-called (M, R) system was proposed within the framework of relational biology. The processes in the (M, R) system have the property of closure to efficient cause, which makes the system complex and, apparently, not computable within the framework of a Turing machine. All internal functions in this system are self-defined within the system, which is generally not yet clear how it can be implemented in large technical models. The objective of this paper is to present a two-valued logic mechanism as a relatively simple computable simulation of a simplified schematic model of the (M, R) system. The mechanism implements self-definition of nominal binary operations (using hyperoperators with isomorphism of direct and inverse operations) and exhibits a variety of cyclic behavior similar to the cycles of a one-dimensional temporal cellular automaton. The mechanism's processes can be compared to the structure-generating process of form-generation, studied in transcendental psychology. Using this mechanism as part of the processor of a computing system or cells in cellular automaton can be interesting for obtaining new research and possible practical results.
