BORBENI UM Funkcionalna arhitektura stabilnosti pod ekstremnim pritiskom
Abstract
This monograph presents a functional and descriptive framework for understanding psychological stability under extreme and prolonged pressure. Rather than treating stability as a baseline or normative state, the work approaches it as a dynamic, resource-dependent process that must be actively produced, regulated, and maintained under conditions of high risk, uncertainty, and limited margins for error. At the core of the book is the Guardian–Hunter–Predator (GHP) model, a hybrid functional architecture describing how adaptive systems reorganize perception, regulation, and execution in extreme contexts. The model does not introduce psychological types, diagnostic categories, or prescriptive rules. Instead, it analyzes temporary functional regimes within a single adaptive system, their situational dominance, coordination, and reversibility. The book systematically examines: psychological stability as an adaptive function rather than a trait, stress as a baseline operational context rather than an exception, the relationship between short-term operational efficiency and long-term adaptive cost, moral regulation and meta-regulation under sustained pressure, transition dynamics, post-extreme effects, and late adaptive consequences, explicit limits of applicability, risks of misinterpretation, and conditions under which the model loses explanatory power. The framework is strictly descriptive and analytical. It does not provide guidance for training, selection, diagnosis, evaluation, or operational decision-making. Concepts are used in a functional, system-level sense and are intentionally separated from clinical, legal, or normative interpretations. The work is intended for academic researchers, professionals, and practitioners interested in extreme environments, adaptive systems, stress regulation, and long-term consequences of high-pressure functioning. It is recommended for readers aged 18+.
