Detection-of-gamma-1.878-in-galactic-halos REVISED
Abstract
After finding a bug in the script used for detection, I have revised my Python code, findings, and results. These remain almost identical to the first study; however, after correctly including the bulk velocity subtraction, we found the predicted gamma in a different velocity/radial window. This change was expected given the correction in the mathematics. All scripts provided here are free to download, use, stress test, and inspect for a critical audit. They can be found at Zenodo (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18056781) for m12i FIRE-2 snapshots 0–3, intended to be used in conjunction with each other. Please explore the documentation before attempting to run any scripts. Without GPU acceleration, some processes may take hours or even days to complete. Any pro-tier AI can modify these scripts for your specific GPU brand. My computations were run on an RTX 3080 Ti and completed most scripts within 10 minutes. I cannot take responsibility for any damage to hardware; users are encouraged to ensure compatibility before running these scripts on a GPU. CPU computation will be extremely slow due to the sheer volume of calculations required.Thank you for your attention.EDIT: Fire2 snapshots used can be found here, https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18056781 which are required for the fire2 scripts to work. Alternatively, search for m12i and m12b snapshots with google or your preffered search engine.
