Abstract

1. Magnetism (definition) 2. The 8th dimension (physical quantity) SI Base Unit Updated (magnetism) 3. Directional only quantities (magnetism) 4. Energy (J) = force (acceleration) * density * length raised to the power of 4. 5. Quantification for domain alignment 6. Experiment for quantification (domain alignment, magnetism, energy) This may also be written as Volume * h (similar to mg*h of Potential Energy). It may also be written as a*d*L^4. For clarification: Energy (Joule) = Acceleration x Density x Length^4 Energy (Joules) = Acceleration * Density * L^4 Energy (J) = Acceleration * Density * m^4 Where meter = m = length = L kg*m^2/s^2 = m/s^2 * kg/m*m*m * m^4 Where * = multiplication symbol And ^ indicates “raised to the power of” For example m^4 is meter raised to the power of four. MLL/s^2 = L/s^2 * M/L*L*L * L * L * L * L M*L*L/s^2 = L/s^2 * M/L*L*L * L^4 Where L is Length = meter = m And M (capital m) = mass That is Mass x Length x Length / second^2 = Length/second^2 x Mass/Length*Length*Length x Length*Length*Length*Length Mass x Length x Length / second^2 = Length/second^2 x Mass/Length*Length*Length x Length^4 Similarly: Length^4 or L^4 or meter^4 or m^4 may be written as: (V)L Where V = Volume That is Volume = Length raised to the third power V = L^3 And also V = meter^3 (meter cubed) V*L (V)L=VL (V)L L*L*L*L Or (V)r Where r is equal to radius Or (V)h Where h is equal to height To reiterate: E = a*d*L^4 E = a*d*m^4 Where a = acceleration (m/s^2) d = density (mass/length*length*length) Such that length*length*length = length^3 = length cubed in other words d = density = mass/volume where volume = length cubed specificaly in meters, such that the dimensional analysis are in proper units for clarity s represents the second, the unit of time. Thus Energy measured in Joules which is equal to kg*m^2/s^2 Acceleration is equal to m/s^2 Density is equal to kg/m*m*m Length^4 is equal to length (measured in meters) raised to the power of four; meter^4; m^4 Barring any typos made during the upload, this is the exact new and original equation I came up with, which is shown in the attached pdf which shows my hand written notes. I've included a new, original, and unique "constant" for unidirectional/directional alignment/orientation which may be used in the equations of mathematics and science. Additionally, I've included an initial definition for The International System of Units (SI), following common practices set out by The Bureau International des Poids et Mesures' (BIPM) "mises-en-pratique", in congruence with the expectations of The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), such that Magnetism may be reasonably considered a physical quantity (base unit; i.e. dimension) which can be added to current 7 base units of the SI. As the system was revised in 2019, I have included necessary updates. Finally, I have defined classification for directional only quantities, which differ from scalar and vector quantities, and includes Magnetism. p.s. in case this is relevant: As I'm a full time student, I'll be sure to upload a typed final draft as soon as I can. I have at minimum 10+ notebooks over the last couple of years to serve as proof of work, including an initial outreach email to NASA about updating one of their webpages. I've also shared this with professors and TA's, some of which have written me letters of recommendation. This is new and original work which I have done on my own. I'm brand new to this, so I apologize for any lack of formality or adherence to common practices. Ahead of time -- my kindest thanks. Best Regards, Anton Maximillian Alotte From my original (and previous) post made 08/29/2026: Magnetism is the directional alignment of matter. Alternate definition(s): the orientation of matter. - the directional alignment of particles - the directional orientation of particles - the directional orientation of subatomics - the directional alignment of subatomics - the directional alignment of elements or elementary components of matter - the directional orientation of elements or elementary components of matter - the directional alignment of constituent components of an element - the directional orientation of constituent components of an element - the directional alignment of constituent particles of an element - the directional orientation of constituent particles of an element - atomic alignment - unidirectional atomic alignment - atomic orientation - unidirectional atomic orientation
