La Cuatridimensión del Ser: An ontological-pedagogical model for teacher and humanistic education
Abstract
This paper presents La Cuatridimensión del Ser as an ontological-pedagogical model for teacher education and humanistic formation. The model conceptualizes the human being as an interdependent articulation of four fundamental dimensions: physical, psychological, social, and transcendental. From a heuristic and integrative perspective, the proposal addresses the fragmentation of contemporary educational processes and argues for a systemic understanding of human development. The article develops the epistemological foundations of the model, its articulation with the Guatemalan National Curriculum Base and international educational frameworks, its cultural-hermeneutic grounding, and its praxeological application in higher education contexts. Special attention is given to meaning, professional purpose, and material conditions as non-reducible elements of human dignity, particularly in contexts of social vulnerability and crisis. Rather than offering a closed or exhaustive framework, La Cuatridimensión del Ser is proposed as an open conceptual platform for critical dialogue between ontology, pedagogy, and educational practice, intended as a foundational reference for subsequent theoretical developments, including future developments such as the formulation of neuroconnectivism as a learning theory.
