Empirical Validation of the Scale-Lens Model: Part II — Testing Against 110 SPARC Galaxies
Abstract
Title: Empirical Validation of the Scale-Lens Model: Part II — Testing Against 110 SPARC Galaxies This paper tests the Scale-Lens model against observational data from the SPARC (Spitzer Photometry and Accurate Rotation Curves) database, which provides high-quality rotation curves for 175 disk galaxies. Key Results: The strictly selected 110-galaxy analysis yields 89/110 (81%) fits with reduced χ²_ν < 2 Model comparison yields ΔAIC = +16.3 favoring Scale-Lens over NFW dark matter halos The scale-acceleration parameter a_HBR ≡ V_∞²/r_g has median value 5.9 × 10⁻¹¹ m/s² with scatter 0.36 dex The Baryonic Tully-Fisher Relation (BTFR) is reproduced with slope 3.79 ± 0.12 (theory predicts 4.0) The Radial Acceleration Relation (RAR) emerges naturally from the model Includes: Detailed fitting methodology (Levenberg-Marquardt, convergence criteria) Sample selection criteria (quality flags, radial coverage, inclination cuts) Gallery of 10 representative rotation curves spanning 3 orders of magnitude in mass Statistical comparison figures (ΔAIC distribution, χ² comparison, r_g distribution) Analysis of failure cases (barred galaxies, interacting systems) This is Part II of the Galaxy Rotation Curve Series, focusing on empirical validation.
