Abstract

This study aims to analyze global scientific research trends, knowledge structures, and the most influential topics, as well as the evolutionary trajectory in the field of entrepreneurship, using bibliometric analysis. Furthermore, it seeks to address the gap in current literature, which lacks a systematic integration of bibliometric research methods. Bibliometric analysis contributes to this by providing a comprehensive overview of publication trends and trajectories across various topics, including citations and publication metrics. Therefore, this study analyzes bibliometric data over a ten-year period (2015-2024) to identify the most productive countries, universities, journals, authors, and publications in the field of entrepreneurship, as well as common keywords. VOS Viewer software was used to display this data based on corroborating citations, co-occurrence, and bibliographic associations. A Scopus database was used to retrieve 7,832 articles. The following key findings emerged: high annual growth in the number of published articles related to entrepreneurship; the United States of America dominates the rankings with 1,681 articles and 73,016 citations; the journal Small Business Economics stands out as the leading journal in terms of scholarly output (253 articles), citations (13,150), and Hirsch index (75); and the author Audretsch, D.B., from the United States, is among the most prolific authors with 51 articles, the highest citations (5,241), and the best Hirsch index (109). Indiana University Bloomington, located in the United States, is the top contributor with 122 articles and 7,427 citations. The keywords "Entrepreneurship," "Entrepreneur," and "Entrepreneurship Education" were the most prominent, collectively receiving significant attention. With an estimated 23.18% visibility, the article by researcher Nambisan Satish, published in 2017 in the journal Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, received the highest citation. These findings contribute to a deeper theoretical understanding of entrepreneurship and offer practical insights into the field and the policies designed for it. This may help researchers identify future research trends and directions worldwide. However, according to Scopus data, research in this area remains somewhat limited.
