This work presents a structural analysis of the song In the Cage by Genesis, focusing on formal organization, motivic processes, and large-scale voice-leading in progressive rock. The study applies adapted analytical tools derived from formal theory and Schenkerian-oriented approaches to the analysis of popular music.
