Trojan Wave Packets and the Electron's Internal Structure
Abstract
Trojan Wave Packets (TWPs), observed in driven Rydberg atoms, exhibit long-livedspatial localization and quasi-classical orbital motion with remarkably suppressed dispersion. While standard Floquet theory provides an accurate formal description of these states, it doesnot by itself identify a compelling physical mechanism underlying their sustained coherence. We propose an effective framework in which TWP stability is governed by a slow internalcollective coordinate χ, acting as a dynamical order parameter for coherence. The frameworkis formulated independently of any higher-dimensional assumption, yet it admits a naturaland structurally constrained realization within a solitonic five-dimensional (5D) picture whereχ is associated with a compact internal fiber. We identify correlated experimental signatures(threshold behavior, discrete stability plateaus, path memory, and phase sensitivity) andoutline a decisive experiment based on closed parameter cycles combined with a globalphase inversion, designed to discriminate a purely local Floquet description from dynamicscontrolled by an internal compact/slow coordinate.
