LIVED EXPERIENCES OF INTERNATIONAL CARE COACHES
Abstract
This qualitative-phenomenological study examined and analyzed the lived experiences of International Care Coaches. Phenomenological analysis revealed the following textual themes in the experiences of international care coaches: academic and religious background; transformation of mind, body, and spirit; engagement with both spiritual and psychological dimensions of the individual; and serving as a compassionate companion and connector throughout life's journey. The essence of Care Coaches might be symbolically compared to the heart of the "Good Shepherd." In the Gospel of John, Chapter 10, verse 11, Jesus states: “I am the good shepherd.” The benevolent shepherd sacrifices his life for the flock. This verse encapsulates the essence of care coaching: a life dedicated to love, sacrifice, and steadfast companionship. The study's findings indicate that Care Coaches are not just support professionals; they are integrated persons who combine academic expertise, spiritual foundation, and emotional resilience to provide comprehensive care. Therefore, this ministry of compassionate presence is essential to their efforts, and it is advisable for organizations to acknowledge and endorse the care coach's distinctive and crucial role in fostering a flourishing, resilient workforce.
