Abstract

This is an expository manuscript on standard bases in local rings, intended as a learning resource for readers with background in Gröbner bases and commutative algebra. The exposition follows the presentation in Cox, Little, and O’Shea, Using Algebraic Geometry (Springer, 2005), with expanded explanations and examples. No new results are claimed.
