Abstract

This work is versioned. The concept DOI 10.5281/zenodo.18207190 always resolves to the latest version. This preprint presents a theoretical framework for spontaneous liquefaction of saturated granular systems under static boundary conditions. The manuscript focuses on the physical admissibility of liquefaction, the hydromechanical termination of the liquified state, and the energetic classification of collapse. The work is intended as a theoretical reference. Triggered liquefaction, spatial propagation, and event-specific analyses are nor addressed here and are treated separately.
