ODD Output-Driven Development - A Novel Methodology for AI-Assisted
Abstract
This paper introduces Output-Driven Development (ODD), a novel software development methodology specifically designed for AI-assisted programming. ODD addresses the fundamental challenge of making AI produce correct outputs by defining artifacts first and structuring tasks as "fill-in-the-blank" problems. The methodology includes a 17-layer context injection architecture and a comprehensive taxonomy of 698 artifact types. ODD represents the first systematic methodology optimized for human-AI collaborative software development.
