Abstract

This is a text recognition model trained on the hand of Johannes Jaeck (d. 1466), a priest and relative of Anna Jaeck, provost at the convent in Inzigkofen. He wrote texts in two manuscripts for the convent of Inzigkofen. The Ground Truth dataset contains German texts in Gothic script (Cursive) from the 15th century (Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Ms. germ. fol. 1045 and Ms. germ. oct. 842). The model was obtained by fine-tuning the CATMuS Medieval model. The dataset is published here. Metrics CER: 4.29%
