Bastarda HTR model related to the Augustinian canonesses in Inzigkofen
Abstract
This is a text recognition model trained on the hand of Jos von Pfullendorf (d. ca. 1430), town clerk in Rottweil. He wrote two manuscripts for the convent of Inzigkofen, where his daughter Beatrix (d. ca. 1480) was a nun. The Ground Truth dataset contains German texts in Gothic script (Bastarda) from the 15th century (Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Ms. germ. fol. 1045). The model was obtained by fine-tuning the CATMuS Medieval model. The dataset is published here. Metrics CER: 3.35%
