Abstract

Overview This release introduces PMS-CONFLICT as a fully specified domain-layer paper within the Praxeological Meta-Structure (PMS) ecosystem. PMS-CONFLICT is strictly grounded in the canonical PMS operator grammar as defined in PMS.yaml and does not modify, extend, or reinterpret any PMS operators or dependencies. All formal objects, signatures, and constraint regimes used in this paper are direct applications of the existing PMS grammar (Δ–Ψ) under domain-specific load conditions. The canonical source of truth for the operator system, dependency spine, and derived axes referenced throughout this paper is: PMS Theory & Model Repository: https://github.com/tz-dev/Praxeological-Meta-Structure-Theory PMS-CONFLICT positions conflict as a structural regime that becomes legible when standard PMS operators—especially Σ (Integration), Ψ (Self-Binding), Θ (Temporality), Ω (Asymmetry), and Χ (Distance)—enter sustained non-convergent load. It provides a recognition grammar, not an application or intervention layer, and remains fully compliant with PMS validity conditions, including reversibility and dignity-in-practice (D). As a domain-layer artifact, PMS-CONFLICT depends on PMS but does not require or imply the application of other domain papers. References to CRITIQUE, ANTICIPATION, EDEN, SEX, and LOGIC function solely as interpretive docking points to situate conflict within the broader stack, without introducing additional operators, procedures, or governance logic. This repository therefore functions as a stable analytical paper artifact—with Markdown, HTML, and PDF outputs plus a scene-bound example suite—rather than as a method, toolkit, or evaluative framework. Core Contributions 1. Canonical Definition of Conflict (Structural) Conflict defined as stabilized non-integration: Divergent integrations (Σ₁ ≠ Σ₂) Partial self-binding (Ψ > 0) Temporal persistence (Θ) Asymmetric cost topology (Ω) Distance (Χ) available but costly/asymmetric Explicit falsifier installed: High intensity ≠ conflict Conflict is a constraint regime, not an affect signature 2. Conflict as a State, Not an Escalation Reframes conflict from escalation narratives to attractor dynamics: Α_conflict introduced as a configuration label (not a new operator) Conflict stabilizes because it provides orientation, predictability, and role fixation when Σ-work is unaffordable Silence, avoidance, and non-communication modeled as Λ-bearing structures, not absence of conflict 3. Frame-Drift Grammar (□ / Φ) Conflict formalized as a frame-drift regime, not a stable frame Canonical drift patterns specified: Cooperation → Competition Discourse → Power Relational → Identity Conflict → Tragic Failure condition fixed: Frames fail when transitions are unmarked, not when they change 4. Φ-Substitution: Recontextualization Replaces Integration Formal description of Φ replacing Σ as consolidator under conflict load Canonical Φ-positioning types documented: Motive reframing Historization Context inflation Moralization without moral theory Damage-to-license conversion (Ω → Φ) identified as a recurrent stabilizer 5. Drift Typology (Recognition-Only) Introduces a reusable conflict drift typology, including: Integration Clash (Σ₁ ≠ Σ₂) Binding Collision (Ψ₁ excludes Ψ₂) Asymmetry Lock-In (Χ_exit asymmetric) Temporal Trap (Θ hardening) Dignity-in-Practice collapse without moral failure (D) Includes ρ-collapse (reciprocity loss) as a cross-cutting modifier. 6. Explicit Tragedy Clause Establishes tragic residual conflict as structurally possible under maturity Introduces: Collision goods Non-substitutable damage Epistemic boundary: tragedy requires real Ω/Θ/Ψ to become knowable Blocks automatic conversion of tragedy into evaluation or IA claims 7. Modern Enabling Conditions (Θ-History) Explains why conflict regimes appear "young": Θ compression Φ acceleration Ω legibility amplification Λ residue propagation Prevents essentialization by fixing conflict patterns as regime products, not traits 8. Distributional Realism & Sex-Relevance (Non-Essentialist) Introduces sex-relevance strictly as: Correlation with role placement and cost carriage Not causation, not trait attribution Restores role topology as the carrier of conflict mechanics Explicit misuse firewall against selection, ranking, or legitimacy claims 9. Strong Misuse Firewalls Dedicated chapter: What CONFLICT is not Explicitly invalidates use as: Mediation or resolution method Diagnosis or typing system Selection, enforcement, or public sorting tool Validity gate fixed: Χ + reversibility + D must remain intact for any application 10. Structural Hygiene & Repo Discipline Clear separation of strata: PMS (grammar) Domain layers (lenses) MIP/IA (downstream governance) Publicness scale (P0–P4) with misuse gradient Hardening backlog and revision triggers defined Examples constrained to /examples directory (scene-bound, depersonalized) What This Release Does Not Do ❌ No advice, tools, or interventions ❌ No prescriptions or best practices ❌ No moral judgments or diagnoses ❌ No governance, enforcement, or evaluation logic PMS-CONFLICT is recognition grammar only. Compatibility & Dependencies Depends on: Praxeological Meta-Structure (PMS) Compatible with: PMS-CRITIQUE, PMS-ANTICIPATION, PMS-EDEN, PMS-SEX, PMS-LOGIC Downstream only: MIP / IA (explicit boundary; not included) No PMS operators are modified or extended. Intended Audience Researchers working with structural, non-psychological models of praxis Domain-layer authors within the PMS ecosystem Readers seeking legibility without moralization in high-cost conflict domains Analysts requiring falsifiable conflict classification without intervention drift Release Integrity Statement This release was authored as a single coherent structural artifact with strict operator discipline, explicit misuse firewalls, and no retrofitted patches. The paper is internally complete and externally bounded. Future releases, if any, will focus on: Clarification hardening under public misuse Example-suite expansion (aggregate-only) Cross-paper docking precision Tag: v1.0.0 License: As specified in repository Author: tz-dev
