Redefining Time as an Emergent Phenomenon
Abstract
The concept of time occupies a central role in modern physics, yet its ontological nature remains a subject of debate. Classical mechanics treats time as a universal and absolute parameter, whereas relativistic physics introduces time as a coordinate within a four-dimensional space–time. However, both approaches assume time as a pre-existing structure in which physical processes occur. In this paper, we consider an alternative approach, in which time is not a fundamental backdrop of physical reality, but a derived quantity that emerges from the dynamics of energy exchange at the deepest level.
