Abstract

Description of Light Speed Invariance in Parabolic Rotation. Core Thesis: The speed of light, cc, is fundamentally identical in all three coupled spaces—A (our observable universe), B (the source space), and C (the supertemporal space in the sense of Dragan-Ekert). This invariance arises naturally from the geometric structure of the parabolic rotation that connects these spaces, without requiring superluminal motion, exceeding an energy barrier, or the existence of tachyons. 1. Universal cc as a Geometric Necessity The invariance of cc is not an independent postulate but a mathematical consequence of the coupling between spaces. The key is the structure of the parabolic rotation (the Dragan-Ekert transformation), which acts as an isometry—a distance-preserving map—between the spaces. Metric Preservation: The transformation from space B to space A (and analogously from A to C) is defined to preserve the fundamental spacetime interval: dsB2=dsA2dsB2=dsA2. This is the standard requirement for a coordinate transformation in relativity. Orthogonality Condition: As shown in the formal derivation, preserving the interval under the spatial identification xi=wixi=wi and a linear temporal transformation τA=RτBτA=RτB forces the matrix RR to satisfy RTR=IRTR=I. This is the definition of an orthogonal matrix, representing a rotation (and/or reflection) in the 3-dimensional space of fundamental times. Consequence for cc: This orthogonality condition can only be satisfied if the constant cc appearing in the metric of space A is numerically identical to the constant appearing in the metric of space B. A different scaling would break the orthogonality. Therefore, universal cc is synonymous with the geometric consistency of the parabolic rotation. 2. The Parabolic Rotation: A "Slip" at the Tangent Point, Not a "Jump" The transition between spaces is fundamentally misunderstood if visualized as movement through a higher-dimensional container. The correct interpretation is a reparameterization or phase transition at a point of tangency. Point of Tangency: The parabolic rotation connects spaces A, B, and C at a singular tangent point in the full configuration space of the fundamental field ΨΨ. This is not a location in any one spacetime but a condition in field space. No Velocity Required: Since there is no "travel" from one manifold to another, the concept of a transition velocity vv is meaningless. One does not "accelerate" from space A to reach space C. Instead, when the local energy density exceeds the critical threshold ρ>ρcritρ>ρcrit, the stable vacuum solution of the field ΨΨ changes. The new stable configuration is mathematically described using the coordinates of space C. The "transition" is instantaneous in the same sense a quantum phase transition is instantaneous—it is a sudden change of the system's ground state, not a propagation. Preservation of cc: Because this process is a re-description of the same physical state using different coordinates related by an isometry (STS=ISTS=I), the causal structure and the speed of light are preserved by definition. Light rays in the new C-description still travel at cc, as they are the same light rays from the A-description, just charted on a different "map." 3. Absence of an "Energy Barrier" to Surmount The framework does not involve climbing a potential hill to reach a new state. Critical Density as a Threshold, Not a Barrier: The value ρcrit=ℏc/λΨ4ρcrit=ℏc/λΨ4 is not an activation energy but a stability threshold. Below it, the A-vacuum is the global minimum of the field ΨΨ's potential. Above it, the A-vacuum becomes a local maximum or unstable point, and the C-vacuum (or another configuration) becomes the true minimum. The system "rolls" to the new minimum. Energy Source is Local: The energy required to exceed ρcritρcrit locally (e.g., at the center of a collapsing star) is not used to "power" a transition to another space. It is the very energy that destabilizes the current vacuum configuration of ΨΨ. The transition itself is a consequence of this destabilization and does not consume additional energy. 4. No Tachyons: Causality is Maintained Within Each Space A common misconception is that connections to a "superluminal" space C would require or imply tachyons—particles that travel faster than light within a single spacetime. Internal Causality: The prohibition v≤cv≤c applies to the propagation of signals within any single, well-defined spacetime manifold (A, B, or C). Each of these spaces has its own light cone structure, and no causal curves within them violate this limit. Inter-Space "Transitions" are Not Worldlines: The parabolic rotation linking these spaces does not generate a continuous worldline xμ(λ)xμ(λ) that starts in A and ends in C. Therefore, it cannot be described by a 4-velocity and cannot be classified as subluminal, luminal, or superluminal. It is a different category of physical process: a change of the geometric vacuum. Ekert's Principle: This aligns with the core idea in Dragan and Ekert's work: that descriptions of events outside a standard light cone in one reference frame do not imply causality violation but rather necessitate a change to a quantum or supertemporal reference frame where the description remains consistent and causal. Summary: In this framework, the universal constancy of cc, the nature of the parabolic rotation, the role of the critical density, and the absence of tachyons are all interlocking pieces of a single, coherent picture. Light speed invariance is a geometric identity preserved by isometric transformations between spaces. The "movement" between spaces is a vacuum phase transition at a point of tangency, requiring no superluminal travel or exotic particles, and is triggered not by overcoming a barrier but by crossing a stability threshold in energy density.
