Abstract

Reader’s Note This paper is not written to persuade, defend, or promote a result. It exists to close a single, recurring failure mode: “structure (S)” collapses into a semantic catch-all, and as a consequence Ψ becomes either unfalsifiable or trivially re-described. This text therefore treats S as a formal object with boundary conditions. It is written as a downstream companion: after recurrence (R) has been made non-mythological upstream, structure must be made decidable downstream—otherwise the law-level discourse cannot remain operational. Failure modes are not treated as weaknesses, but as explicit boundary declarations. Abstract Across domains, “structure” is the most abused word in the reflexivity debate. If S means “anything we care about,” then Ψ becomes non-operational. If S means “the internal rule-class that generates admissible behavior,” then Ψ becomes a strict classifier—but only if rule change can be separated from state change. This paper provides a minimal, domain-agnostic specification of what S must be in order to be measurable under recurrence, and what failure conditions force Ψ into the undefined regime (not as weakness, but as an explicit boundary). In doing so, the paper formalizes: • Structural decidability requirements (what must be observable/inferable for S to exist as an operational object),• RSSA admissibility as a mandatory gate (rule–state separation is not optional),• A constrained notion of ΔS (structure change as change in an admissible generative object, not a semantic reinterpretation),• The minimal interface to the remaining canonical operators Q, U, K (sequence execution, rule update, minimal mutation), which are invariant across the KOGNETIK series. --- Intellectual Property & ContactKOGNETIK® is a registered trademark of Serkan Elbasan (Germany). The KOGNETIK Research Series is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Process, not state:Reflexivity is a transformation rule, not a content or level. Domain-independent operator:Valid across biological, cognitive, artificial, social, industrial, and geophysical systems. Non-ascriptive, empirically testable:Ψ compares systems by observable structure and recurrence. Higher-order phenomena as specifications:Learning, adaptation, consciousness, governance, and identity are structured regimes of Ψ.
