Abstract

This paper defines error strictly as a physical failure mode of a measuring system rather than a statistical or interpretive concept. Using only established physics, error is identified as the breakdown of structural restriction, scale coupling, or record stability required for measurement fidelity. By grounding error in physical degradation—such as energy injection into restricted degrees of freedom, material drift, or loss of calibration—the paper clarifies error as an objective property of physical systems, independent of observers or probability.
