The Black Substrate: A Comprehensive Analysis of the History, Origins, and Function of Neuromelanin
Abstract
This paper presents a "unified theory" of Neuromelanin (NM), challenging the historical Western biomedical view of the substance as merely metabolic waste or cellular debris. Instead, the author argues that NM is a critical homeostatic regulator, a protective shield, and a potential "organic semiconductor" capable of processing biological information.
