Hidden Order, Expansion, and the Emergence of Darkness
Abstract
We present a phenomenological cosmological framework in which the observed dark sector is interpreted as the gradual loss of an effective large-scale ordering influence, rather than as an additional material component. The construction is calibrated to reproduce the ΛCDM expansion history exactly, while remaining stable and observationally consistent at the level of linear perturbations. Using an effective multi-component description, we derive the linear perturbation equations and show that structure formation is governed by the dominant eigenmode of the coupled system. When the background evolution is fixed to ΛCDM, the resulting linear matter power spectrum remains indistinguishable from the standard prediction within current observational precision. The framework therefore offers a consistent reinterpretation of dark energy as an emergent phenomenon associated with the weakening of cosmological order.
