A Natural Initial-Phase Selector in Affleck–Dine Baryogenesis: The "Seed" Concept
Abstract
We propose the conceptual “Seed” model, in which a small but systematically non-zero initial phase in the Affleck–Dine baryogenesis scenario arises naturally from a weak breaking of high-scale symmetries at GUT or string scales. The effective potential acquires a weak periodic correction with an extremely small amplitude, typical of non-perturbative or high-order symmetry-breaking effects, leading to an initial phase of order 10⁻¹⁰–10⁻⁹. This is sufficient to reproduce the observed baryon asymmetry without introducing additional low-energy CP-violating sectors or superheavy fields. After the initial phase shift, the field trajectory enters a scaling regime that effectively acts as a dynamical attractor, reducing sensitivity to initial conditions. The periodic correction can be conceptually regarded as a “Seed” encoding the initial phase information relevant for baryogenesis.
