Abstract

Description This paper presents an early conceptual formulation of emergent quantised gravitational behaviour within the ψ₀–OCM (Osborne Cosmological Model) framework. In this formulation, quantised curvature behaviour is proposed to arise from discrete redistribution dynamics and partial individuation within a generative ψ₀ substrate rather than from the quantisation of a fundamental gravitational field. The work introduces the core conceptual elements of the mechanism, including redistribution bursts, stabilised nodes, and individuation regimes in which discrete curvature oscillation modes may emerge. Classical gravity is interpreted as the coarse-grained effective description that arises once individuation completes or microstructure averages out. The analysis is intentionally conservative with respect to established physics: relativistic causality, locality, and the classical General Relativity limit are preserved under coarse-graining. The paper primarily establishes the conceptual basis for a redistribution-driven account of gravitational behaviour and outlines structural claims and reduction arguments. Supersession Notice The mechanism presented here has since been substantially refined and formalised in a later work: Osborne, J. F. (2026). Emergent Gravity from Redistribution Microstructure: A ψ₀–OCM Coarse-Grained Mechanism for the Infrared Recovery of General Relativity without a Fundamental Graviton (v1.0). Zenodo.https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18665070 The later paper introduces an explicit redistribution microstructure formulation with a resolution-dependent curvature response and a formal coarse-graining limit that recovers the Einstein field equations. Readers interested in the current mechanistic formulation of ψ₀–OCM emergent gravity should consult that work.
