The Path Still Exists How Human Civilization Forgot Itself
Abstract
This work argues that the preservation of references, results, or texts does not imply the preservation of paths. Citations maintain chains of attribution and legitimacy, but they rarely preserve the conditions, failed attempts, assumptions, and alternative routes that made a result possible. When environments change, conclusions without retraceable paths become unverifiable and non-adaptive,even if they remain widely cited. This book examines, across civilizations and modern systems, which structural forms allowed paths to survive rupture, and which forms preserved results while silently deleting reconstructability.
