Abstract

A Non-Abusive Coherence Lens for Online Discourse Structural Constraints, Local-Only Architecture, and Misuse Prevention Online discourse increasingly exhibits patterns of repetition, escalation, fragmentation, and instability that are difficult to perceive from within individual information streams. Existing responses to these conditions often rely on moderation, ranking, persuasion, or surveillance-based analytics, each of which introduces significant risks of abuse, overreach, or loss of user autonomy. This paper introduces a non-abusive coherence lens: a conceptual system designed to reflect structural properties of information flow without evaluating content, ideology, truth, or intent, and without intervening in user behavior. The proposed approach operates strictly under user-side sovereignty, performs no centralized data collection, and produces no enforcement or recommendation outputs. The contribution of this paper is architectural and normative rather than algorithmic. It formalizes a Non-Abuse Charter and a local-only reference architecture that together define hard constraints against censorship, surveillance, profiling, and behavioral manipulation. No implementation details, metrics, datasets, or operational procedures are disclosed. This document is intended solely to establish conceptual priority, safety boundaries, and interpretive limits for coherence-oriented reflection systems in online environments.
