DINAMIKA PERMASALAHAN HUKUM DAN BISNIS DI WILAYAH SUMATRA DALAM PERSPEKTIF FAKULTAS HUKUM DAN BISNIS
Abstract
The disasters that occurred in Sumatra cannot be understood solely as natural phenomena, but rather as the result of interactions between government policies, economic interests, environmental degradation, and geopolitical dynamics. This article aims to analyze disaster management in Sumatra through an interdisciplinary study of five study programs, namely law, management, accounting, communication science, and English. The research method used is a qualitative study based on academic discussions and literature reviews of scientific articles, media reports, and policy sources. The results of the study show that weak state supervision of extractive activities, such as mining and logging, contributes significantly to increased disaster risk. In addition, the government's slow response and ambiguous attitude towards aid, including the rejection of foreign aid, reveal tensions between geopolitical interests and humanitarian needs. The phenomenon of increasing public trust in non-state actors in aid mobilization signals a crisis of state legitimacy in disaster management. This study emphasizes the importance of disaster policy reforms oriented towards social justice, sustainable development, and strengthening public trust so that the state can effectively carry out its role in protecting its citizens.
