Abstract

This release contains a unified MATLAB® solver for 2D structural systems (trusses, beams, and frames) using the Direct Stiffness Method. The code computes joint displacements, support reactions, and internal axial forces (for trusses) based on user-defined geometry, material properties, loads, and boundary conditions. Key Features: Supports beam, frame, and truss analysis Handles concentrated joint loads and uniformly distributed member loads Automatically converts distributed loads to equivalent nodal forces Applies fixed, pinned, and roller supports using matrix partitioning Modular code structure for clarity and extensibility Fully documented scripts and functions for easy adaptation Included Files: Main solver script Supporting functions (stiffness matrices, load conversion, global assembly, post-processing) Example problems: beam, frame, and truss License: The code is released under the MIT License for open use, modification, and distribution with attribution. Usage: Open the main script in MATLAB Define nodes, elements, material properties, loads, and supports Run the solver to obtain displacements, reactions, and internal forces
