The Coherence Program
Abstract
Coherence is typically treated as a descriptive or statistical property of physical, biological, and computational systems. This paper introduces a simple dynamical law that treats coherence as a local, causal, geometry-driven field. The equation shows that coherence relaxes exponentially toward a value determined by local curvature or disorder. This principle is independent of any specific cosmological or lattice model and applies broadly to systems where waves, information, or structure propagate through a medium. The equation provides a unifying mechanism for decoherence, pattern formation, stability, and emergent order across multiple domains.
