Abstract

The switchback event lists are compiled by Dr. Jia Huang (huangjia@berkeley.edu) for reference purpose, please contact Dr. Jia Huang if you have any questions. Parker Solar Probe (PSP) data are used to search switchbacks in each encounter. The criteria of event identification are described in the following paper, please cite them if you use the lists. Huang J., Kasper J. C., Fisk L. A. et al. (2023). The Structure and Origin of Switchbacks: Parker Solar Probe Observations. The Astrophysical Journal, 952(1), 33, https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/1538-4357/acd17e. We separate a switchback into five parts: leading/trailing quiet period (LQP/TQP), leading/trailing transition region (LTR/TTR), and spike (i.e. the core structure of switchback). In each event list, we present Case Number, Quality Flag, LQP Start Time, LQP End Time, spike Start Time, spike End Time, TQP Start Time, and TQP End Time. LTR is between LQP End Time and spike Start Time, whereas TTR is from spike End Time to TQP Start Time. NOTES: 1, Switchbacks with a Quality Flag of 1 are candidates identified by our automated code, while switchbacks with higher Quality Flags (>1) are considered to be better events.2, E03 list is excluded due to PSP/SWEAP data gap.3, Event lists from E01 to E08 are manually corrected and are ready to use.4, Event lists from E09 to E24 need a manually selection of the boundaries.5, We will release the event lists in following encounters.
