Ideological Warfare in the Contemporary Middle East: Analyzing Jihadism, Palestinian Nationalism, and Western Strategic Failures
Abstract
This paper presents a critical analysis of contemporary Middle Eastern geopolitics through the lens of an extensive interview with Mosab Hassan Yousef, examining the ideological underpinnings of conflict in the region. The research explores the instrumentalization of Palestinian nationalism as a vector for jihadist ideology, the duplicitous role of the Palestinian Authority, the regional threat posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Western misunderstanding of the nature of ideological warfare. Drawing from primary source material, this study argues that the October 7, 2023 attacks represent not merely a tactical operation but a manifestation of deeper jihadist ideology that has successfully penetrated Western consciousness through narrative manipulation and victimhood discourse.
