Post-Stealth Engagement Equation
Abstract
The Post-Stealth Engagement Equation quantifies the total probability of successfully engaging a target in a multi-modal, post-stealth operational environment. It integrates sequential, conditionally dependent phases of detection, visual or multi-modal lock, and residual stealth effectiveness. By explicitly modeling the degradation of stealth under physically complete observation, the equation formalizes the transition from radar-dominant approach to visual-dominant terminal engagement. Its multiplicative structure captures both early-phase observability continuity and terminal-phase saturation, providing a rigorous probabilistic foundation for analyzing engagement outcomes in scenarios where stealth is no longer an absolute property.
