Abstract

This paper analyses a recurrent architectural failure mode in high-stakes systems: allowing systems to reach commitment-capable states before authorisation is conclusively resolved. It refines a control-plane boundary for commitment by fixing commitment interfaces, witness events, and mediation coverage as explicit architectural objects. The contribution is not doctrinal novelty, but a mechanically testable assurance specification that renders complete mediation at commitment boundaries auditable under system evolution.
