Thermal–Inductive External Cache Layers (L7–L8)
Abstract
Modern memory hierarchies are fundamentally optimized around asingle metric: latency. From L1 to emerging L6 cache concepts, thedesign objective remains nanosecond-scale responsiveness forCPU-centric workloads. This proposal challenges that assumption. We introduce Thermal–Inductive External Cache Layers (L7–L8) — aside-band, AI-readable cache concept that does not compete onspeed, but instead captures and preserves system state over time. Byleveraging liquid cooling dynamics, thermally responsive particulatestructures, and inductive (choke-based) energy inertia, L7/L8 cachelayers store thermal history rather than instantaneous electricalstate. This document positions L7/L8 not as replacements for DRAM,SRAM, or emerging NVMs, but as an orthogonal memory dimensionoptimized for stability, persistence, and temporal fidelity
