survey instruments - Intergenerational circularity
Abstract
This record contains the survey instruments used for data collection within the Intergenerational Circularity citizen science project, conducted in Nice, France, as part of the IMPETUS programme. These questionnaires were used to produce the anonymised datasets made available separately on Zenodo. The questionnaires were designed from a behavioural science perspective to explore circular skills, intergenerational learning, and social outcomes related to citizen participation. They were co-developed and tested with citizen scientists to ensure clarity, accessibility, and relevance for both older adults (65+) and younger adults (18–35). The uploaded materials include: A pre-project questionnaire administered to senior and junior citizen scientists, capturing baseline information on intergenerational perceptions, wellbeing, and attitudes towards circular skills and knowledge transmission. A post-project questionnaire administered to the same groups, designed to assess perceived changes in attitudes, social connection, empowerment, and learning outcomes following participation in the project. A quantitative questionnaire targeting younger participants, documenting existing circular practices, perceived skill gaps, learning interests, and willingness to engage in intergenerational exchange. Questionnaires were administered in online and paper-based formats, depending on participants’ preferences and access constraints, in order to reduce barriers related to digital literacy or mobility. All questionnaires were implemented in French. These instruments are shared to support transparency, replicability, and reuse. They may be adapted by researchers, practitioners, or organisations interested in studying circular behaviours, intergenerational learning, or citizen science methodologies in similar contexts. Users are encouraged to cite the Intergenerational Circularity project when reusing or adapting these materials.
