THE LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL FEATURES OF PLANT-RELATED PLACE NAMES IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES
Abstract
The article examines the linguistic and cultural features of plant-related place names in English and Uzbek from a comparative perspective. Plant-based toponyms constitute an essential part of the toponymic systems of both languages, reflecting the close relationship between nature, language, and culture. The article analyzes the semantic content, structural patterns, and word-formation mechanisms of phyto-toponyms, as well as their cultural and symbolic significance. Special attention is paid to the influence of natural conditions, traditional livelihoods, and historical factors on the formation of plant-related geographical names. The article underscores the value of phyto-toponyms as important linguistic and cultural markers that contribute to the understanding of national worldviews and cultural heritage.
