The Frontiers of Distance Museum Education: A Comprehensive Integration of Artificial Intelligence and Modern Pedagogical Paradigms from Early Childhood to Secondary Schooling
Abstract
The evolution of museum education from traditional, site-specific physical visits to multidimensional, distance-based engagement marks a significant paradigm shift in contemporary pedagogical practice and cultural communication. This article provides an exhaustive exploration of how museums leverage Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to facilitate learning across various educational tiers, with a specialized focus on pre-school and secondary education contexts. By synthesizing constructivist and sociocultural theories, distance museum education is presented not merely as a digital alternative but as a sophisticated medium for active, authentic, and inquiry-based experiences. The study further examines the transition from object-centered to human-centered approaches, the role of digital mediators in mitigating the digital divide, and the efficacy of action research in creating virtual museums and digital museum kits for remote educational communities.
