Abstract

PANMENZ is a novel operator‑based ontology of consciousness that models cognitive processes as directed, recursive dynamics within a Z₄‑symmetric operator structure. The framework defines four fundamental operators — Δ (selection), Λ (integration), Θ (stabilization), and Φ (recursion) — and interprets consciousness as a stable attractor generated and maintained through cyclic transformations of these operators. In contrast to existing theories (IIT, GNWT, Predictive Processing), PANMENZ is generative rather than descriptive. It does not merely characterize conscious phenomena but provides a mathematical architecture that formalizes directed information processing, self‑stabilization, error correction, and recursive structural development. The theory integrates concepts from dynamical systems, symmetry groups, fiber bundles, non‑gradient flows, and gauge theory to establish a coherent, multi‑scale operator logic. The manuscript presents the complete operator ontology, defines the mathematical structure of the Δ–Λ–Θ–Φ cycle, describes the attractor topology of conscious states, and discusses implications for AI architectures, self‑modeling systems, and cognitive stability. PANMENZ thus offers a theoretical framework relevant both to consciousness research and to the development of next‑generation AI systems.
