Redox NEI Functional Cure Concept
Abstract
Despite major advances in molecular oncology, durable disease control remains limited by recurrence, dormancy, and adaptive resistance. Increasing evidence suggests that malignant persistence cannot be fully explained by genetic alterations alone, but rather emerges from dynamic interactions between reactive oxygen species (ROS), immune surveillance, endocrine signaling, and metabolic regulation. This paper proposes a systems-level conceptual framework in which cancer is sustained by adaptive redox homeostasis within the neuro-endocrine-immune (NEI) axis. We introduce the concept of functional cure as long-term physiological containment of disease through environmental destabilization rather than complete cellular eradication. This framework integrates redox signaling, cytokine balance, immune tolerance, and hormonal coordination to provide a biologically grounded model of disease persistence and control.
