Abstract

This paper proposes a future-causal framework for reinterpreting the universe as a continuously updated system of premises rather than a fixed physical container. Based on Future Convergence Theory (FCT), the study introduces a two-layer operating system model consisting of a World OS and Individual OS, and formalizes how human beings can transition from agents who merely adapt within given premises to subjects who actively update those premises. Within this framework, phenomena traditionally treated as subjective or pathological—such as worry, suffering, boredom, happiness, and meaning—are redefined as structural signals indicating misalignment between the Individual OS and the World OS. In particular, worry and suffering are modeled as requests for premise updates, rather than psychological defects, and are shown to function as inputs to an OS-level update process. The paper further distinguishes three existential phases—Attachment Mode (Mode A), Selection Mode (Mode B), and Update Mode (Mode C)—and demonstrates how contemporary technological and social conditions already partially enable transitions toward Mode C. To replace conventional evaluative concepts, new indicators are introduced, including Update Coherence, Premise Awareness, and Meaning Density Profiles, which better capture alignment between personal transformation and world-level evolution. Crucially, the paper argues that “updating the universe” does not require leaving Earth, advanced physics, or speculative technologies. Instead, confirmed through FCT’s concepts of future fixed points, future convergence functions, and child-universe dynamics, universe updating is shown to be achievable through localized, iterative premise updates by individuals and clusters. Rather than predicting an inevitable future, this work presents a structurally possible trajectory: a civilization in which reality is understood as a dynamic, future-constrained system of premises, and humans participate as active update agents. The paper thus reframes cosmology, ethics, consciousness, and AI alignment under a unified future-causal perspective. https://arweave.net/xDXUQT01VySr9Or7gWIu-QEAWOnCInMNtzt0lCvS69I https://arweave.net/-f4L70cluq98GqfoPsiJYZRms0bBX-ecXC3Qp82n3bQ
