Abstract

Non-Illustration II — Tide is a unique digital artwork (1/1) belonging to the Non-Illustration series. This work does not function as illustration, explanation, or visual accompaniment to any external text. It is not didactic, narrative, or symbolic in a conventional sense. Instead, it operates as a temporal surface — an image meant to interrupt instrumental perception and suspend interpretive urgency. “Tide” suggests movement without direction, repetition without progress. Its visual field evokes flux, oscillation, and recurrence, but without anchoring meaning or offering resolution. The image does not communicate a message; it creates an interval. The work resists the logic of optimization, readability, and extraction of value through explanation. It exists as a presence, not as content. Viewing it is not an act of decoding, but of remaining. This Zenodo record functions as a public conceptual registry and provenance anchor. The NFT associated with this work does not represent ownership of the image itself, but of its on-chain registration and temporal inscription. Authorship and copyrights remain with the artist.
