Kadın Figürünün Dönüşümü: Barbara Frischmuth'un "Kai und die Liebe zu den Modellen" ile İpek Ongun'un "Bir Genç Kızın Gizli Defteri" Romanlarında Kadın Kimliği ve Özneleşme Süreci
Abstract
ABSTRACT This article presents a comparative analysis of Barbara Frischmuth’s Kai und die Liebe zu den Modellen (1979) and İpek Ongun’s Bir Genç Kızın Gizli Defteri (1991) in terms of the representation of the female figure. Although written in distinct cultural contexts, both novels center on women’s processes of subject formation, their struggle against social norms, and the construction of identity. While Frischmuth’s novel, situated within a postmodern aesthetic, discusses female desire and the gendered nature of art, Ongun’s work focuses on young women’s search for identity within the socio-cultural framework of modern Turkey. This study seeks to make visible the historical and social transformation of female representations in literature by analyzing the characters’ modes of emancipation according to their cultural settings. Keywords: Female Figure, Feminist Literature, Identity Construction, Barbara Frischmuth, İpek Ongun
