Abstract

Technical Disclosure: Progress Switch Driven Dialogue (PSDD) v1.1 Abstract: This document discloses Version 1.1 of the PSDD Architecture, expanding the system from a narrative state machine into a unified World Coherence Engine. While v1.0 established the "Physics of Meaning" for dialogue, v1.1 extends this entropic logic to the visual, economic, and temporal layers of simulation. This update demonstrates how a single mathematical truth—the Resultant Context Vector (R)—can simultaneously drive character psychology, atmospheric rendering, and environmental aging. Core Architecture (Retained from v1.0): The system relies on the Entropic Compass (Polar Coordinate Topology) to calculate narrative direction via the vector summation of Global, Local, and Avatar forces (R=Vg+Vl+Va), and utilizes the Narrative Capacitor to simulate psychological hysteresis and stress thresholds. New Mechanisms Disclosed (v1.1 Prior Art): The Visual Sensorium (Atmospheric Coupling): A direct interface between the narrative context and the rendering pipeline. This mechanism maps the vertical orientation of the Resultant Vector (R) to the engine’s Post-Processing Stack, allowing the narrative state (Syntropy vs. Distropy) to drive visual properties (e.g., Film Grain, Color Grading, Lighting Intensity) in real-time. Relational Topology (Functional Causality): A topological method for simulating complex cascades without active agent simulation. This introduces the Null Signal, where the destruction of a foundational node (e.g., a producer) propagates a "State of Absence" through a dependency graph, actively altering the vector states of dependent nodes (e.g., causing "Scarcity" or "Grief" vectors to override local context). Advanced Temporal Synthesis (The Narrative Log): An expansion of the Lazy Update Protocol to support historical continuity. This system maintains a Local Blackboard Log that records significant vector shifts during a player's absence. Upon return, the Dialogue Assembler accesses this log to construct sequential, past-tense accounts of off-screen events ("First X happened, then Y"), rather than simply reacting to the current state. Procedural Prop Aging: The application of the Lazy Update Delta to physical world assets. The system calculates the "Decay Factor" of a zone based on the time delta and local entropy, automatically toggling mesh states (e.g., Rust, Overgrowth) to visually synchronize the environment with the narrative timeline. Licensing: This architecture, including the Visual Sensorium, Relational Topology, and Temporal Synthesis modules, is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). This publication constitutes a formal disclosure of Prior Art to prevent proprietary enclosure of these methods.
