Abstract

This document records the development, consolidation, and formal closure process of the Irwin Corpus. It exists to document how the corpus emerged through iterative descriptive work, why consolidation and boundary-hardening became necessary, and how to read administrative duplication in the public archive without mistaking it for expansion or ongoing development. This record:– documents the learning curve involved in building the corpus– explains why early phases produced multiple overlapping boundary instruments– clarifies why some administrative records appear duplicated– defines how supersession, deprecation, and archival retention should be interpreted– provides provenance-level navigation for future readers This document does not:– introduce new material– revise or modify any corpus instrument– reopen development– establish authority, hierarchy, interpretation, or guidance– authorise use, application, or extension This document is not part of the Irwin Canonical Corpus. It is a descriptive, non-canonical, archival process record only. It exists solely to record how consolidation occurred and why the corpus reached structural finality through compression rather than expansion.
