The 142 Hz Signature: A Fractal Marker of Neural Efficiency
Abstract
Theoretical framework and experimental validation of the 142 Hz neural signature derived from optimal fractal dimension D* = 2.3107. Key findings: • Self-organized conscious systems converge toward D* = 2 + 1/(φ⁻¹ + 1 + φ) = 2.3107 • Two-frequency model: f = 432/φ^D predicts f₁ = 102 Hz (perception) and f₂ = 142 Hz (integration) • All 4 predictions experimentally validated (COGITATE iEEG + Elite Athletes EEG, all p < 0.05) • 142 Hz indexes cognitive integration cost, with opposite modulation in experts vs novices (neural efficiency) Contents: Analysis code (Python), publication figures (PNG/PDF), full article, theoretical derivation. Data sources: COGITATE Consortium (iEEG), Elite Athletes EEG (Figshare).
