Truth-Value Gate (AX-TV-1.0): A Minimal Truth-Aptness Gate for "True / False" Claims
Abstract
AX-TV-1.0 defines a minimal gate for when a claim may be assigned a truth value (“true” or “false”).The gate is intentionally strict: if evaluation conditions are not explicitly declared and auditable, theclaim is classified as INVALID (not truth‑apt), rather than merely “unknown”. AX-TV-1.0 standardizes the preconditions for meaningful truth‑value attribution by requiring scope, reference conventions, an evaluation procedure, evidence access rules, a decision rule, an error/uncertaintymodel (where applicable), and an audit trail. This document does not adjudicate metaphysical realism, empirical validity, ethics, or legal authority. It defines only a minimal operational boundary for answering “true/false” claims without hidden assumptions.
