CATALYTIC OXIDATION OF ETHYLENE WITH AIR OXYGEN
Abstract
Ethylene oxide is currently the largest production product in petrochemical synthesis. Ethylene oxide is the most important raw material used in the production of large-tonnage chemical products, which is the basis for the production of various consumer goods in all industrially developed countries [1]. The main directions of the use of ethylene oxide are: ethylene glycols - used in the production of antifreezes, polyesters, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), gas drying agents, liquid heat carriers and solvents; polyethylene glycols - used in the production of perfumes, cosmetics, pharmaceutical preparations, lubricants, solvents and plasticizers for paints; ethylene glycol ethers - included in the composition of solvents for brake fluids, detergents, varnishes and paints; ethanolamines - used in soap, detergents, natural gas purification and fabric finishing; ethoxylates - used in the production of detergents as surfactants, emulsifiers and dispersifiers
