Scripts and Example Data for "Increasing wildfire frequency advances spring vegetation phenology in the Northern Hemisphere" (Nature Communications, 2026)
Abstract
This Zenodo deposit contains demo scripts and example data to reproduce analyses in the manuscript "Northern Hemisphere Spring Phenology and Wildfire Frequency" submitted to Nature Communications (2026). Contents:1. Scripts/ - MATLAB_analysis.m # Partial correlation, ridge regression, LMG - SmartPLS_project.spl # Structural Equation Modeling - Python_visualization.py # Plotting and statistics - GEE_preprocessing.js # Data download and preprocessing using Google Earth Engine 2. Demo_data/ - SOS, fire, climate, CO2, SOC, and land cover data covering a small region in northern forests (48°–52°N, 52°–65°E) for years 2003–2005 System requirements:- MATLAB R2024b- Python 3.9 (rasterio, numpy, pandas, matplotlib)- ArcGIS Pro 3.x- SmartPLS 4.x- Google Earth Engine account- Windows 10 or later The demo data allows reviewers to verify that scripts run successfully. Full datasets can be obtained from publicly available sources (MODIS, ERA5, OpenLandMap, GOME-2 SIF).
