Abstract

The animation learning module was designed as an introductory instructional resource to support students’ understanding of basic animation concepts and practices through hands-on activities. The module aims to introduce learners to fundamental principles of animation, including motion, sequencing, timing, and visual storytelling, using accessible digital tools. The structure of the module is organized into several learning sections, starting with an overview of animation as a medium and its relevance in digital creativity and educational contexts. This is followed by guided tutorials that introduce students to the animation software interface and core features. Each section includes clear learning objectives, step-by-step instructions, and practical exercises that encourage active exploration and experimentation. To promote meaningful learning, the module emphasizes a practice-oriented approach. Learners are encouraged to create simple animation projects by applying concepts introduced in each session. Reflection questions and short tasks are embedded throughout the module to help students evaluate their understanding and connect new knowledge with prior experiences. The module is designed to be flexible and adaptable for workshop-based learning or classroom implementation. It can be used independently by learners or facilitated by instructors during training sessions. The language, instructions, and activities are tailored to be beginner-friendly, making the module suitable for students with limited prior experience in animation or digital media. Overall, this animation module serves not only as a technical introduction to animation creation but also as a learning tool to foster creativity, problem-solving, and digital literacy skills. The complete version of the module is provided as supplementary material to support transparency, replication, and broader educational use.
